Department of Social Welfare

The Social Welfare Department was created by the Government of Maharashtra with the noble intention of protecting the educational and economic interests of the backward classes, especially the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, from social injustice, with special care. Through this, the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Nomadic Tribes, Special Backward Classes and Cadres, Disabled and Weak etc. from the grassroots to the village level can benefit from educational, economic, social, personal and family benefit schemes so that their standard of living can be raised and they can benefit from all the comforts and facilities. In short, the main objective of the Social Welfare Department is to implement various schemes to include the backward classes and weak sections of the society in the process of social transformation and to develop them educationally, socially and economically. 

Name of the scheme
