Talasari taluka is the majority (90.73%) tribal dominated taluka among the 8 talukas of Palghar district. The taluka is located in Bhagevar Vaslela on the border of Union Territory Dadra Nagar Haveli and Gujarat state. The central part of the taluka is Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway No. 8.
